Radical and Kitsch are Post-Modern Design Styles characterized by humorous and eccentric artistic objects which tend to be extremely superficial and/or excessively theatrical.

Radical Kitsch and The Terms
Anti-Design was a design movement and style born in Italy. The movement employed striking colours, scale distortion, and featured irony and kitsh. The function of the object was to change completely the way you conceived the object. In architecture this was called Radical Design period.

Alessandro Mendini
Alessandro Mendini was an architect and designer focused on neo-modern and contemporary featurse. As architect, he designed several structures for example the Alessi residence in Omegna, Italy. This ornate and singular Proust Armchair was a work of Alessandro Mendini for the Italian firm Cappellini, who has been creating the finest in contemporary furniture.

Philippe Starck was Born in Paris in 1949, he is one of the best known and creative designers of this time. He has obtained many important prizes such as the one won in the Grand Prix National de la Création industrielle and the Honor Award of the American Institute of Architects.

Maarten Baas was born in Germany. In June 2002 he obtained the degree at the Design Academy with a couple of designs: a series of burned furnishings and an ingenious sundial, which shows time in shadowtexts. The Smoke series entered the collection of Dutch label MOOOI, wanted by Marcel Wanders.
