Eco Design Architecture

Ecodesign means using the less resources with a minimum impact on nature and society. Ecodesign was described by Sim Van der Ryn and Stuart Cowan and it is an integrative ecologically responsible design art. Its application focuses on using materials with minimum environmental impact to produce less pollution and waste, reducing the environmental impacts of distributing products, making reuse and recycling more important.

In building design and construction, architects are using the concept of Ecodesign in all the process, from materials to the type of energy that employed. This is to reduce costs and minimize the costs of shipping for nature. Recyclable materials are often used in buildings, but it is vital that they don’t produce damages during manufacture or after their life cycle is over.

The Taipei World Financial Center, is a worldwide starting point for sustainable skyscraper evolution. The tower rises from its basement recalling the form of a Chinese pagoda. The top of each module hosts mechanical floors with garbage systems. The building was architecturally conceived as a symbol of the improvement of technologies and Asian tradition.  The tower is projected to withstand typhoons and earthquakes.
